West Ham United’s Home-Field Advantage Eclipses Tottenham’s Struggles in London Derby Draw

Key statistics from West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham

In the Premier League draw between West Ham United and Tottenham, it is evident that West Ham United has been performing exceptionally well in home games. Over the past 11 games, they have lost only once at home in the league. Their success this season in London derbies has been particularly impressive, with 14 points earned across nine games, which is their best return since 2018-19.

In contrast, Tottenham has been struggling on the road. In their last six away games in the Premier League, they have won only once. Additionally, they have yet to secure a victory at the London Stadium in their last four league visits there. Despite these struggles, Tottenham’s young star Rennan Johnson has been playing well lately, being involved directly in six goals in his past seven Premier League appearances.

On the other hand, Kurt Zouma of West Ham has been making a name for himself as an impressive goalscorer among defenders. He is currently second on West Ham’s goalscoring list after Gabriel Magalhaes and has scored 11 goals since the start of the 2020-21 season. Of those 15 goals he’s scored overall, 13 came via corners. Son Heung-Min of Tottenham made history during the game by appearing in his 400th match for the club across all competitions but failed to score or assist for the sixth time out of seven away matches against West Ham in the Premier League.
