As reported by the Minnesota Department of Health, approximately 1.5 million people in the state have pre-diabetes. However, a shocking statistic indicates that only one in four of these individuals are aware that they have it. This means that there are a significant number of people at risk for developing diabetes without even realizing it.

The good news is that being diagnosed with pre-diabetes provides individuals with an opportunity to take proactive steps to reduce their risk of progressing to full-blown diabetes. By taking control of their health and managing their condition early on, individuals can work towards preventing the onset of diabetes altogether.
