Spotify Launches New Video-Based Courses to Enhance User Learning Experience

Spotify experiments with video-based educational courses in new content format

In the UK, Spotify is testing a new content option that allows users to purchase video-based courses on various topics such as music creation, business, and healthy living. The platform already provides access to music, podcasts, and audiobooks, with new subscription options being introduced in the United States like audiobooks. Spotify is continuously working to offer new experiences and types of content to its users.

The new video-based courses will be available in different categories such as music, creativity, business, and health. Users can access two lessons per course for free as part of the test in the UK. They can then purchase full access to all lessons on the platform’s website. The courses are provided by educational technology companies like BBC Maestro, PLAYvirtuoso, Skillshare, and Thinkific.

Spotify aims to offer educational creators a new audience by introducing video-based learning courses. Half of Spotify Premium subscribers have consumed podcasts with educational or self-help topics, indicating a strong interest in educational content among users. This move by Spotify shows its commitment to providing its users with diverse forms of content that cater to their different interests and needs.
