Scarlett Johansson in negotiations to star in upcoming Jurassic World film

Scarlett Johansson is being considered to star in the next installment of the popular dinosaur franchise, Jurassic World. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the two-time Oscar nominee is in negotiations to take on a lead role in the upcoming film.

Chris Pratt led the 2015 movie Jurassic World and its two sequels, which saw the return of original cast members Sam Neill and Laura Dern. The films were massive successes, grossing over $1 billion worldwide. Gareth Edwards, known for his work on films like The Creator starring John David Washington and Rogue One, will direct the new movie.

The script for the upcoming film comes from David Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the original Jurassic Park in 1993. Originally, the project was set to be directed by David Leitch of Bullet Train fame, but he departed in February. The movie is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2025, with production gearing up to start soon.

In addition to her role in Jurassic World, Scarlett Johansson has been keeping busy with other film and television roles. She recently starred in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and Kristin Scott Thomas’s North Star, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Johansson will also be seen alongside Channing Tatum in an upcoming romantic comedy set during the 1960s space race. Plus, she is set to headline the TV series remake of legal thriller Just Cause, written by Oscar-winner Cord Jefferson.

Scarlett Johansson’s potential involvement in Jurassic World adds even more excitement to an already popular franchise.
