Ex-Raven JK Dobbins Signs with Chargers to Reunite with former Coordinator: Expectations for an Impactful Season Ahead

J.K. Dobbins Signs One-Year Deal with Chargers After Stint with Ravens

After four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, running back JK Dobbins has decided to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, as confirmed by his agency LAA Sports. This move reunites him with his former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who now holds the same role with the Chargers at SoFi Stadium on the West Coast.

Despite having an impressive 2021 season cut short due to an Achilles injury and a torn ACL in the final preseason game, Dobbins has accumulated 1,347 yards rushing, 12 rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions for 177 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown throughout his career. The Chargers struggled in rushing yards, yards per carry, rushing touchdowns, and rushing first-down percentage last season, ranking among the worst in the league. With new head coach Jim Harbaugh and QB Justin Herbert on board this offseason, adding more options to the offense to support Herbert has become a top priority for the team. The expectation is that Dobbins will make a significant impact on the Chargers’ offensive game plan moving forward.
