Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion: A New Era of Science Education and Exploration in Allentown

Da Vinci Announces Opening Date for New Science Center in Allentown

The Da Vinci Science Center is set to open at the PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown, and the anticipation is high. This new education center will replace the existing facility on the Cedar Crest College campus, officially welcoming the public on May 22.

The center’s inaugural exhibit will be “Dinos Alive,” an immersive experience showcasing 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs, from Velociraptors to the iconic T-rex. This state-of-the-art 67,000-square-foot science education facility will offer interactive experiences for visitors, such as exploring the human body in the LVHN My Body exhibit or meeting North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine presented by Alvin H. Butz.

Executive director and CEO Lin Erickson expressed her excitement about the long-awaited opening, emphasizing the strong community support that made it possible. The center’s mission is to make science come alive and bring lives to science, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s curiosity.

In addition to exhibit galleries, the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion will offer amenities like fully equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and interactive workshops to engage visitors of all ages. There will also be a rooftop terrace for private events, adding to the overall experience of exploring, learning, and discovering at this premier science center in the Lehigh Valley.
